Some pictures from a holiday in the Yorkshire Dales in July 2000 ....
Dent

The village of Dent in the Yorkshire Dales (now in the new county of Cumbria.) The large block of granite in the pretty cobbled Main Street is a drinking fountain erected as a memorial to the geologist Adam Sedgwick, Dent's most notable inhabitant.

The Sun Inn sells its own Dent Brewery beer, which is brewed in Dentdale and very good it is too!

The twin humps of Helms Knott (known locally as Tweedledum and Tweedledee) from the west end of Dent
Dentdale

Visiting both the village of Dent and Dentdale is like stepping back in time. Here is a typical haymaking scene. One wouldn't be surprised to see horses at work.
