Some pictures from a holiday in Scotland in July 2000 ....
The Road to The Isles
The route westwards along the A 830 from Fort William to Mallaig is known as "The Road to The Isles". The Isles referred to being The Hebrides.

From Fort William, "The Jacobite" steam train runs each day to Mallaig. This locomotive is LNER Class B-1, 4-6-0, No. 61264, now painted in British Railways black livery.

"The Jacobite" crosing the Glenfinnan Viaduct.

The Glenfinnan Monument stands at the head of Loch Shiel to commemorate those who rose in support of Bonnie Prince Charlie in the 1745 Jacobite rebellion.

The famous silver sands of Morar - This is almost as picturesque as Cornwall!
